General Information

The Faculty of Economics of Marmara University is organizing the Fifth EconTR Conference on Economics to be held online&in-person on May 16-18, 2024 at Marmara University, İstanbul, Türkiye. The Conference program includes plenary sessions, panels, and presentations of contributed papers. The conference is open to all line of theoretical and empirical research in economics, finance , labour and entrepreneurship. The conference aims at bringing together scholars from all over the World for exchange of ideas, discussion of recent results within theoretical and applied research, and creating a research network for future joint collaborations.

Abstract Submission

An abstract of not less/more than 150/250 words should be submitted online through the website. EconTR conference is open to both English and Turkish presentations. The authors submitting Turkish abstracts sould also submit English version of their abstract. Abstracts should include 2-3 JEL codes and keywords of the research. Papers in the fields of economics, finance, labour and entrepreneurship will be considered. Authors will receive a notification by e-mail about acceptance/rejection of their submission within two weeks. Authors can not submit more than 2 papers.

    Full Paper Submission

    The deadline to submit full papers is May 6, 2024. Submitting full papers are up to the authors (not mandatory). Full papers submitted will be published on the Conference web site. Manuscript should be 1.5 line spacing. Margins on the page should be at least 2.5 cm. Page numbers must be placed at the bottom of the page. Font size should be Times New Roman 12 pt or Arial 11 pt. First page of the manuscript should include title, author(s) names with institutions and e-mail address of each author, abstract, keywords (min. 3, max. 5) and JEL codes. Correspondence address should be indicated by a footnote with the full mailing address, fax number and e-mail address of corresponding author. In addition, supporting agencies, etc. may also be indicated by a footnote on the first page. Abstract should not exceed 200 words for reviews and research articles. Equations, citations, uncommon abbreviations, etc. should not be included in the abstract. Please submit your full paper in MS Word format to conference@weri.eu

    EconTR2024 Programme will be announced on April 30, 2024.

    Support

    EconTR will provide Registration Fee Waiver support to 10 participants at EconTR2024 Conference. 

    To apply for financial support; please submit your full paper by March 15, 2024 and indicate your request for fee waiver.

    The results will be announced by March 20, 2024


    Venue

    The venue for in-person presentations is the Faculty of Economics of Marmara University, Göztepe Campus, İstanbul, Türkiye. Online presentations will be held by using Zoom.

    EconTR2024

    Registration

    The deadline for early registration to EconTR2024 is March 25, 2024. The early registration fee of €100 (750TL for Turkish citizens residing in Turkey) covers admission to sessions, lunches, and coffee breaks.. 

    The early registration fee for the participant residing in low and middle (both lower and upper) income countries is €50. Early registration fee for graduate students is €50 (500 TL for Turkish citizens residing in Turkey). Proof of studentship is required.

    The deadline for late Registration to EconTR2024 is April 20, 2024. The late registration fee of the conference is €150 (1000 TL for Turkish citizens residing in Turkey). Late registration fee for graduate students is €75 (750 TL for Turkish citizens residing in Turkey).

    • Publications

    Paper presenting authors at the EconTR2024 Conference have the opportunity to publish their papers in the following journals:

  • Economics Literature (eLit)
  • World Journal of Applied Economics (EconWorld Journal) (indexed in EconLit&TrDizin)

    The authors willing to publish their work in the journals above must submit revised version of their papers after EconTR2024 conference. Note that, the journals will be under no commitment to publish any article. However, they do promise an expedited refereeing process. The deadline to submit your manuscript is June 15, 2024. The authors should follow regular submission rules of the journal that can be found on the Journal’s web page.
